BROOKVILLE — For a moment, it appeared to be the comeback that could turn Bradford’s recent fortunes around.
The Owl baseball team scored seven runs in the 5th inning against Brookville, erasing a Raider lead that had once been 6-0. Bradford couldn’t keep Brookville off the scoreboard, however, and after empty trips to the plate in the 6th and 7th, dropped a 13-10 heartbreaker Wednesday evening.
Cam Austin led the Owl offense with two hits, two RBI and a run scored, while Jack Wells and Liam Haven chipped in two RBI each. Haven’s two-run double was the highlight of Bradford’s big inning, which turned a 7-3 deficit into a 10-7 advantage.
Brookville roared back to tie the game in the bottom half of the 5th, however, before Pierson Ruhlman shut the door on the Owls in the final two frames. Brett Skaggs had a hit and an RBI for Bradford, drawing two walks along the way.
