MT. JEWETT — The April meeting of the MJ2KB Trail Club will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Mt Jewett Memorial Library.
The club is excited to announce they have started the resurfacing project on the section of the Knox & Kane Rail Trail between Mt Jewett and Lantz Corners. This section of the trail will be “shut down” for a few weeks, according to club member Carolyn Stroup. The TSA resurfacing should be done by the end of May.
The club will discuss their upcoming events for this summer and fall. June 4 is National Trails Day and the club will be out on the rail trail near the Kinzua Bridge State Park’s Skywalk. Wolf Creek’s Kinzua Half Marathon & 5K will be July 23 and 24. To register for the Wolf Creek’s Kinzua Half Marathon visit https://wolfcreektrackclub.com/ — and they will also host another race in August, same date as Mount Jewett’s Swedish Festival on August 14. The MJ2KB Trail Club will be at this year’s Kinzua Bridge State Park Fall Festival as well on Sept 17 and18.
“Thanks to everyone that renewed your membership for 2022. Memberships, donations, grants and fundraisers make it possible to keep your trail nicely groomed and continue developing more rail trail,” said Stroup. “Come to our meeting and meet other trail club members and share your ideas for events.”
