A former Bradford native recently returned from an adventurous vacation in sunny San Diego, California paid for, in full, by the company who employs the woman as an award for outstanding performance — and quite possibly an incentive for other employees.
Brandy Kay Scheffer, former resident of Bradford, has returned from a week-long escapade in San Diego, California, as a performance award from her employer, Petco.
Scheffer, who now resides in Apalachin, New York, was awarded this once in a lifetime excursion for her performance in the third and fourth quarters while managing the Petco store in Oneonta, New York. Both quarters were the highest in the district, for nationwide performance.
Driving all the way from Apalachin to Oneonta has never been an issue for Scheffer, who stated that managing the pet store was something that she absolutely adores doing.
According to Scheffer, animals have always been a part of her world. Currently, she has two dogs named Barkley and Berkley; two bearded dragons named Skully and Baby Drago; and a tortoise named Cooby.
In addition to her plethora of pets, Scheffer lives at home with her son, Dalton, and daughter, Bre, who is in college right now.
Scheffer is the daughter of Jim and Cheryl Scheffer and the granddaughter of the late Jack and Kay Scheffer, who were life-long residents of Bradford; and the granddaughter of Rena Bliss who resides in Eldred, and the late James Bliss.
