The Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS) sponsored a successful ‘Birds ‘N’ Brews Night’ last weekend at the Bradford Brew Station.
“Our goal was to get people who are interested in habitat conservation efforts and dogs to have the opportunity to chat with our dedicated chapter members,” said Jed Hamberger, one of the leaders within the RGS Upland Bird Hunt Chapter. “This gave us the ability to share information with folks interested in knowing more about the upland bird life, dogs, conservation efforts and our beloved bellwether species, the Ruffed Grouse. We had 40 attendees and half of them were new to the Upland Bird Hunt Chapter, so we were excited to meet potential new RGS members and conservationists, including some non-hunting attendees.”
A special thank you, the RGS said, is due to the Bradford Brew Station. Tammi Hennard and her staff served up amazing food and great micro brews, and attendees enjoyed themselves.
The Upland Bird Hunt Chapter also offered shirts and hats for sale, and the RGS had information about their March membership drive. The RGS also offered a Sportdog Trainer for dogs as a door prize to attendees. Sharaya Vivian of Warren was the lucky winter.
Stories were told, offers for future events were thrown out and plans were hatched.
