ANOTHER YEAR: As his grandfather did before him, Joe Cucuzza went out into the woods and looked for the signs of spring, keeping the tradition alive one more year.
Cucuzza called on Tuesday to let us know that he and his girlfriend — his dog, Aggie — were out in the woods on Monday on a walk. The pair walked behind the Valley Hills Club in Lewis Run, when they spotted the Mayflowers.
Cucuzza said there wasn’t anything different about the flowers or the trip this year, although, he admitted, the sunny weather on Tuesday would have been more pleasant than the cold on Monday for a walk but he had to work.

GO TAKE A WALK: It’s National Walking Day today! Walking is the most popular exercise in the U.S. And, according to Hippocrates, “Walking is man’s best medicine.”
Walking as medicine, hmm. Want to reduce your chances of colon and breast cancer? Need a natural mood enhancer? It increases blood flow to the brain and improves mood.
Get started today. Put one foot in front of the other. That is one step. Now, do it again. Keep going, you got this.
Do you want to kick it up a notch? Try race walking. Add this to family night by race walking competitions in the driveway or in the hallway. Make it fun.
