A criminal case charging a Bradford man with hundreds of counts relating to child porn was dismissed at a hearing in February, but refiled Wednesday before District Judge Dom Cercone.
Peter Visiko, 37, of 65 Wildwood Ave., is charged with 131 counts of child pornography, second-degree felonies; 12 counts of disseminating photos or videos of child sex acts, second-degree felonies; 137 counts of child pornography, third-degree felonies; 34 counts of disseminating images of child sex acts, third-degree felonies; and criminal use of a communication facility, a felony.
The case was dismissed in February for an evidentiary ruling regarding the images as determined by Cercone.
The case was filed by Trooper Robert Whyel of Troop I, Computer Crime Unit, Pennsylvania State Police.
According to the criminal complaint, on Aug. 7, 2020, state police were contacted by Internet Crimes Against Children regarding a Tipline report from Dropbox. The file hosting service reported it had identified child pornography in an account belonging to Peter Visiko. Police traced the IP address, and it came back to a Florence Street address.
The resident at the address said Visiko had lived there from January to August of 2020, and was currently residing elsewhere in Bradford. He was located at a residence on Wildwood Avenue. Police spoke to him, and he reported he had “accidentally seen child pornography on the internet in the past,” the complaint stated.
He gave permission to police to search his PIN protected phone, but withdrew consent. He told police other people used his phone while he was sleeping, and his phone was hacked and was acting weird, the complaint stated.
Police obtained a search warrant for his phone and found 88 images of child porn with prepubescent children in indecent sexual contact, 87 images of prepubescent children in a state of nudity, 31 images of involving children ages 13 to 17 involving indecent sexual contact; and 26 images of child pornography involving children between ages 13 to 17 in a state of nudity, the complaint stated.
He was arraigned before Cercone on Wednesday and released on $25,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for March 23 before Cercone.
