Women’s Literary Club news
The Women’s Literary Club met Friday, March 4 at the Hill Memorial United Methodist church. President Gae Colligan welcomed the group with a poem featuring March Winds.
Program Chairman Mary Lou Detweiler introduced Darren Litz, executive director of BCPAC. Previously Mr. Litz started the Performing Arts program for The Family Life Center in New York state. He has taught music at Bradford Senior High School. He has been involved with and received awards for art projects in this area. He described BCPAC’s new office at 119 Main St.. An old ticket booth is there, which presently contains an art exhibit by area school students on display. Recently a Life Virtual concert of art, ‘Heart of Hearts ‘was held and art was auctioned off. The funds were used for artist scholarships. He credited the involvement of the community for the success of BAPAC. Sponsorship has now returned to 100% of what it was pre-Covid. Many new concerts and events are in the works. Post card mailings will be going out in regards to this in the near future.
President Gae Colligan called the business meeting to order. Judy York recommended the book, ‘A Long Way Down’, a mystery by Randall Silvis. Next Friday is card day. March 18th is the Report Day luncheon to be held at 11:30 a.m. at the Hill Memorial church.
Tea committee members were Sue Carns, Judy Kuntz and Barb Black.
