A Bradford man has been charged in two cases with assaulting a woman, allegedly stabbing her through the foot as well as hitting and kicking her.
Timothy “T” Reedus-Gilyard, 29, of Kiwanis Court, is charged in one case with aggravated assault — extreme indifference, a first-degree felony; simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor; terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor. In the second case, he’s charged with two counts of simple assault, second-degree misdemeanors; and harassment, a summary offense.
On Feb. 11, at 4:27 a.m., police were dispatched to South Center Street for a reported assault victim. Police spoke to the victim, who first said she didn’t remember what happened, because she was drunk and “she was jumped,” the complaint stated.
She was taken to Bradford Regional Medical Center, where it was discovered that she had a stab wound to her foot, with the entrance on the top of her foot and exit on the bottom inside of her foot, the complaint stated. A blood trail was found leading to the residence of Reedus-Gilyard. Later, police received an anonymous tip that Reedus-Gilyard was the person who assaulted the victim.
At 10:39 p.m. Feb. 18, police were dispatched to that residence for a domestic in progress. Police spoke to the victim, who told them what happened on Feb. 11. She said she had argued with Reedus-Gilyard, who picked her up and threw her onto a table. She fell onto the floor and blacked out. When she came to, he had a knife to her throat. She blacked out again, and told police that’s when she believes Reedus-Gilyard stabbed her in the foot, the complaint stated.
He picked her up again and threw her into a door, where she hit her head. He dragged her into the bathroom and threw her in the bathtub, then dragged her out of the tub and threw her on the floor where he started to kick her multiple times in the ribs, the complaint stated.
She said there was blood everywhere, and he told her to clean it up “before he went to jail,” the complaint stated. When she noticed the injury to her foot, she walked from Kiwanis Court to South Center Street to a friend’s home for help.
Police said she had multiple injuries, including the stab wound through her foot, broken ribs and bruising to her face and head.
In the second complaint, on Feb. 18, he punched the victim in the face and threw a steel plate from a weightlifting set at her.
Reedus-Gilyard was arraigned Saturday before District Judge Dom Cercone on both cases, and was remanded to jail on a total of $75,000 bail. He is scheduled for preliminary hearings on March 9.
