CLARENDON — Chapman State Park will host its annual Winterfest from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday in pavilion number two.
Winterfest includes family-friendly activities, including ice fishing basics, geocaching, flint knapping and more. Events and games such as ‘Where in the Park is Yet’ will also be played. Staff of the event ask attending individuals to bring a GPS unit or have previously downloaded a GPS app or Google Maps on a cell phone or tablet for the geocaching activities. However, for those who cannot find access to a GPS unit, a limited number of units will be available for use.
Geocaching and the ‘Where in the Park is Yeti’ event will also be available from 10 a.m. until noon on Sunday, Feb. 6 in Pavilion number two.
Participating organizations this year include; Bureau of Forestry, Bureau of State Parks, Conewango Creek Watershed Association, Hearts Content Stone Points, Martz-Kohl Observatory, PA Game Commision, PA Sea Grant and Penn State Extension — Master Watershed Stewards.
All programs are free and open to the public, unless otherwise stated.
