A districtwide message from the Remind app and posts to social media shared that Bradford Area School District will have a day of remote instruction today.
The message stated, “Given the unpredictable nature of the upcoming storm and conflicting weather reports, BASD will conduct instruction virtually on Thursday.”
The message noted that all after-school activities are canceled.
The message for Floyd C. Fretz students stated that first period will begin at 9 a.m.
For School Street, students have had procedures to log into Canvas reviewed and schedules have been discussed as well.
Bradford Area High School students were reminded to take their laptops home and that it is necessary to log into each class livestream for attendance purposes.
Smethport
Smethport Area School District shared a letter via social media stating that, while temperatures should mean a safe morning commute, concern about the afternoon has led to an early dismissal for students. Elementary dismissal will be at 12:15 p.m. and high school dismissal will be at 12:25 p.m.
All students will eat lunch before dismissal. All after-school events, including the YMCA after-school program, are canceled for today.
In the event that school is canceled, the makeup day will be Feb. 21.
Otto-Eldred
Otto-Eldred School District has a Plan A and Plan B for today’s school day.
As of Wednesday evening, the school was implementing Plan A, which called for an early dismissal at 12:05 p.m. for the elementary and 12:20 p.m. for the high school. There will be no PM pre-kindergarten, and all students will eat lunch before dismissal.
All after-school activities are canceled.
Plan B will be decided prior to 6:30 a.m. today, and may require canceling school for the day. In that event, the makeup day will be Feb. 18.
A delay on Friday may also be necessary, based on the forecast. In that event, the delay will be announced today, and AM Preschool will be canceled.
After-school activities on Friday may continue as planned.
Oswayo Valley
Oswayo Valley School District announced Tuesday that, based on the weather forecast, all student instruction will be virtual both today and Friday.
Athletics and extracurricular activities were canceled for both today and Friday, while Saturday’s events will continue as scheduled.
