After round nine in the chess league, team Hamlin retains first place in JV team standings, and the Williams Agency is three points behind them in second. Dr. Wojcik’s team edged out Dexter’s; the Prestige, Awards & Engraving team won against Burns & Burns; while the Tasta Pizza team lost to Dr. Gonzalez; the Williams team drew even with Troisi CPA; the Bysiek CPA team narrowly lost to Wood; Lang Surveying team tied with Hill Memorial; and Hamlin Bank clobbered the ARG team.
In the varsity standings, Prestige, Watch & Jewelry still leads. Final results for the varsity teams are awaiting completion of their online play.
Top individual scorers for board one in the JV are Owen Troisi (captain for Troisi CPA) and Silence Karl (captain for Hamlin), who are tied for first. Juliana Bysiek (captain for Bysiek CPA) is in second, and Trenton Johnson (captain for Prestige, Awards & Engraving) along with Ewan Bell (captain for Hill Memorial) are tied for third.
Other top players in JV action include Aislin Kramer (member of the Hamlin Bank team), Mariah Hallock (member of Williams), and Gavin Weart (member of Wood Chiropractic) who are tied for first on board two. Zech Waterman (playing for American Refining) is just half a point behind in second place. Third is a tie between Elaina Ferguson (member of team Dr. Wojcik) and Aidan Kramer (Tasta Pizza).
Tamara Gennadievna (captain for Prestige, Watch & Jewelry) is the only player who has won every game this season. Garrett Thompson (captain for Beefeater’s) holds second place. Other top scorers in the varsity include Ed Bysiek (member of the Bradford Window Co. team), Jessica Kramer (Main Street Mercantile) and Peyton Haight (Main Street Movie House).
