DUBOIS — Three pins helped lead DuBois over the Bradford wrestling team, 42-25, Tuesday in DuBois.
A short-handed Owl lineup allotted four forfeits to the Beavers, while DuBois got pins from Austin Mitchell (152 pounds), Cadin Delaney (172) and Zach Gallager (HWT).
Devan Poe scored a 9-4 decision victory for the Owls at 120 pounds, while Lucas Laktash worked an 11-0 major decision at 160. Chris Rodriguez and Ashton Smith turned in victories by fall for Bradford, as Rodriguez scored a second-period pin at 189 before Smith pinned his opponent in less than a minute at 215.
The Owls were without middleweight Brett Thompson, which head coach Jamey Miller said impacted the structure of the dual meet.
“Having Thompson tonight would have changed the whole complexion of the dual,” Miller said. “It’s the team’s job to stay together in the practice room and work on some things we need to fix and improve.”
The Owls will compete at the Ultimate Warrior Tournament Saturday at West Branch.
