START FRESH: It’s 2022, and it’s time to get a fresh start. Hopefully, our post holiday hangover is past and we are ready for new things. Try cleaning. Clean out your car, which may have accumulated garbage as the year progressed. Try emptying your email inbox and saying goodbye to the junk mail on the counter.
Take a look at your closet and see if there are clothes you can donate. Free up space and get these things off of your mind.
Let go of grudges against those who aren’t likely to recognize there is an issue. That only stresses you out in the long run.
Set a goal to be kind on social media. Make comments when you support the other person or scroll on by.
Reach out by text, email or even a phone call to those you miss. Let them know you are thinking of them and make a real effort to get together in the new year.
When it comes to finances, get yourself on a positive track for the new year. Set goals to pay off your credit card each month and avoid any purchases that will take longer to address. Set bills to autopay to make sure they get paid and you can’t forget them.
Set a goal to save more. Try not to open any more lines of credit for the year and set a personal budget to better meet these goals.
Remember that it is a good idea to have an emergency fund of three to six months of all monthly living expenses set aside in case of a big change — such as changing jobs.
