ALLEGANY — In a showcase of offensive firepower, Portville outlasted Coudersport behind a balanced attack.
Three players scored in double-digits for Portville. Sniper Aidan DeFazio led the team by nailing six 3-pointers, including three in the fourth quarter to help Portville breakaway for good. Luke Petruzzi hit four triples and had 11 of his 16 points in the first half. Troy Van Sickle scored 12 points and had an important fourth quarter. He put up eight points in the only period that Portville was able to gain separation in.
Christian Furman scored 23 points to lead all-scorers. He had 15 points in the first half to keep Coudy in the game. Mason Roesnew helped out with 12 points including four 3-pointers to space the floor for Coudy.

PORT ALLEGANY — Drew Evens’ dominant first quarter led Port Allegany to a comfortable 42-28 win at home over Smethport.
Evens would not miss from three. He sank four 3-pointers in his 15-point first quarter. Every other scorer combined for five points in the first. He’d finish with seven triples including two in the second period. Alex Ognen led Smethport with 18 points on the night as the Hubbers tried to make a late run.
Port travels to Coudersport today while Smethport visits Oswayo Valley on Thursday.

NORTH EAST — Alexandra Cozzens exploded for 21 points to lead North East to a 44-7 romp over visiting Bradford.
Cozzens had eight points in the first half and another eight in the third quarter as NE’s offense worked all game. Neither side went to the free throw line much and there were few fouls in the contest. Alanna Benson led Bradford with three points off a 3-pointer in the first quarter.
Bradford hosts Ridgway today.

ST. MARYS — After a close first half, Warren took over on offense to win on the road.
Emma Ruhlman is getting collegiate looks and there’s a reason why. With just a four point halftime lead, Ruhlman scored eight points in the third quarter as part of the Lady Dragons 21 point scoring barrage that blew the game open. She finished with a game-high 23 points including two 3-pointers. She was helped by Sam Ruhlman who hit a trio of triples to finish with 14 points.
St. Marys was led by the Caskey’s. Isabelle had 11 points while Maura had 10 with a 3-pointer.
