NEW BETHLEHEM — Bradford ended its non-league season by going 2-3 at the Redbank Valley duals tournament.
The Owls beat Punxsutawney 32-18 and Youngsville 48-24 while losing close to RV, 39-36, Curwensville, 39-24, and Kane, 36-29. The records at the tournament for the Bradford wrestlers are as follows:
113 — Angel Santiago 3-2
120 — Devan Poe 4-1
145 — Elijah Fitton 4-1
152 — Brett Thompson 5-1
160 — Lucas Laktash 4-1
172 — Cascius Rissmiller 1-4
189-215 — Joe Cary 2-1
189-215 — Christopher Rodriguez 2-3
189-215 — Ashton Smith 1-1
285 — Chase Gray 1-4
“The dual meets that we lost really could’ve gone either way,” said Bradford head coach Jamey Miller. “It just comes down to mismatch ups or not being able to get the matchups that we wanted and hoping for the best. Curwensville was really the only one that we lost big.
“But that one, even having those other weight classes filled would have made a big difference… Three of those matches could’ve gone either way, unfortunately they didn’t go ours.”
Bradford opens league play on Tuesday when it hosts Sheffield.
