INDIANA, Pa. – Korrie Alexander of Kane, an early childhood special education major, has completed her degree with a 4.0 grade point average and will graduate from Indiana University of Pennsylvania on Dec. 11.
Daughter of Todd and Julie Alexander, she is a 2018 graduate of Kane Area High School. She was president of Kappa Delta Pi education honor society and was selected for the IUP Dean’s Award for Leadership in Kappa Delta Pi, and for Kappa Delta Pi’s MBNA Scholarship.
She was secretary for the Council for Exceptional Children, an associate member and secretary of Best Buddies, a program pairing students with community members with intellectual disabilities and was a student note taker for the Disability Access and Advising Department. She was a member of the Pre-Service Teachers of Mathematics group, the Student Pennsylvania State Education Association and was a registered volunteer for Special Olympics.
