The Bradford Blizzard U16 hockey team improved to 7-0 after two wins over the weekend.
On Saturday, the team traveled to play the Wheatfield Blades, winning 7-2. Colin Conneely had two goals and an assist for Bradford, while Brendan Confer added two goals, Peyton Keller and Dale Tim each scored a goal, and Tyson See tacked on a goal and an assist.
The Blizzards then defeated the Southtown Stars, 6-4, on Sunday, handing the Stars their first loss of the year. Henry Brairton netted three goals for Bradford, while Alex Baron supplied two goals and an assist and Brendan Confer added a goal. Tom Buckvich and Max Matheson shared time in goal in each of Bradford’s wins.
The Blizzards will travel to play the Stars again next Saturday, and will host Cheektowaga on Sunday for a 10:30 a.m. puck drop.
The Blizzards U12 team dropped a pair of games to the Southtown Stars over the weekend, including a 9-0 home setback on Saturday and a 9-4 road defeat on Sunday.
Shane Andhor scored two goals for Bradford in the latter, while William Newman scored two goals, including one on a penalty shot. Andhor, Newman, and Jacob Calkins each had an assist.
The U12’s are back in action this Saturday at home against Fredonia, with puck drop at 9 a.m. Sunday, they will travel to Amherst to face Amherst-Gossels.
