Area briefs from Lewis Run-based state police:
— A full-sized pickup truck driven by Cali Gordon, 22, of Almond, N.Y. was traveling south on North Brooklynside Road in Liberty Township at 8:20 a.m. Nov. 30 when it started sliding, struck a mailbox and hit a rock wall head-on. The truck was towed from the scene. Neither Gordon nor her passenger were injured; she was cited for driving too fast for road conditions.
— A small pickup truck with an unnamed driver was traveling west on Prentisvale Road west of Windfall Road when it went out of control on the snow-covered Route 346 in Eldred Township at 7:58 a.m. Nov. 30, struck the guide rail, continued west while rotating counter-clockwise, traveled across the road and came to rest in the eastbound ditch. The truck was towed from the scene; the driver was cited for driving too fast for road conditions.
— At 12:57 p.m. Nov. 30, a car driven by Jada Priest, 26, of East Smethport, was traveling north on Route 646 in Keating Township near Parker Place when the car went out of control, sliding into the southbound lane and colliding head-on with a car driven by William Keene, 57, of Cyclone. No one was injured; both cars were towed. Both drivers were cited for traveling too fast for road conditions.
— At 7:16 p.m. Nov. 28, a Jeep driven by Adam Bir, 28, of Niagara Falls, N.Y., was traveling north on U.S. Route 219 in Hamlin Township near Frontier Lane when it went out of control in slush on the unplowed road, and slid into an embankment, overturned an unknown number of times and came to rest on its wheels in the southbound lane. Neither Bir nor his passenger were injured.
— At 10:30 p.m. Nov. 27, a car driven by Thomas Gibson, 62, of Greenville, was traveling west on Droney Road in Lafayette Township when it slid off the road and into a tree. The car had disabling damage and was towed. Both Gibson and his passenger, Helen Stanley, 55, of Transfer, were transported to Bradford Regional Medical Center for evaluation and treatment. Gibson was cited for driving too fast for conditions.
— At 5:49 a.m. Nov. 27, a full-sized pickup truck driven by Shawn Hartman, 49, of Bradford, was traveling west on Route 59 near Route 321 when the truck attempted to slow for a vehicle slowing down in front of it. The truck went out of control, slid off the southern shoulder and struck a downed tree. The truck was towed. Hartman was cited for traveling too fast for conditions.
—At 8:21 a.m. Nov. 26, a sport-utility vehicle driven by Ralph Haight, 73, of Kane, was traveling west on Route 321 in Wetmore Township near Highland Road when it went out of control, struck the ditch and rolled onto its side. Haight was not injured, but was cited for traveling too fast for road conditions. The truck was towed.
— At 9:48 p.m. Nov. 26, a car driven by Amanda Mellin, 27, of Shinglehouse, was traveling north on Route 44 near Bells Run Road when the vehicle went out of control, traveled off the eastside of the road and struck a ditch. The car was towed. Mellin was cited for a traffic summary.
— At 12:20 p.m. Nov. 23, a car driven by Colin Dexter, 18, of Eldred was traveling north on Pump Station Road in Liberty Township when the car slid on the icy road, left the road, struck a tree and came to rest partially in the road against a tree at 240 Pump Station Road. He was not injured, but was cited for a traffic summary.
