More than 60 new cases of COVID-19 and four deaths were reported in the region as of Tuesday, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
As of Tuesday, McKean County had 5,831 cases, an increase of 20 cases in a day, and a total of 106 deaths, an increase of two in a day.
The county’s positivity rate was 21.6%, and there were 31 fewer new cases from Nov. 19 to 25 as compared to Nov. 12 to 18. According to the health department, 41.5% of residents in McKean County are fully covered by vaccine. There were four patients hospitalized with COVID.
Since the beginning of the school year, there have been 60 COVID cases in children from birth to age 4, and 395 in school-aged children. From Nov. 16 to 22, there were 19 cases among school-aged children.
Elk County had 4,795 cases of COVID as of Tuesday, an increase of 11 cases in a day, and a total of 65 deaths. There were 10 patients hospitalized with COVID, with one ventilator in use.
The county’s positivity rate was 16.4% and there were16 fewer new cases in the most recent week. There were 54.2% of county residents fully covered by vaccine, the health department reported.
Since Aug. 16, there have been 48 cases in children from birth to age 4, and 229 in school-aged children. From Nov. 16 to 22, there were 48 cases in children from birth to 4, and 10 in school-aged children.
Potter County had 2,307 cases, an increase of 30 cases in a day, and a total of 62 deaths, an increase of two in a day. There were 34.2% of county residents fully covered by vaccine, the health department noted. There were 20 patients hospitalized with COVID, four in intensive care.
The positivity rate was 26.3%, and there were 24 fewer new cases in the most recent week.
Since Aug. 16, there have been 32 COVID cases in children from birth to age 4, and 170 in school-aged children. From Nov. 16 to 22, there were 9 cases in school-aged children.
Cameron County had two additional cases for a total of 592, and a total of 13 deaths.
There were 53.6% of county residents fully covered by vaccine, the health department reported.
The positivity rate was 17.9%, and there were two more cases than there were in the most recent time period.
Since Aug. 16, there have been 44 cases of COVID in school-aged children.
