WARREN — At 12:42 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20, Warren City police officers responded to the area of 5 Hertzel Street to perform a welfare check on Ian Royo, 26, of Warren.
According to police, upon arrival Royo fired a shot from a 9mm pistol out of his bedroom window, over the responding officers’ heads. Approximately 15 minutes later, Royo exited his residence and was taken into custody without further incident.
Upon further investigation at the Pennsylvania State Police Warren barracks Royo was ultimately charged with Aggravated Assault of Law Enforcement officers and other related charges.
The Warren City Police Department and the Warren County Sheriff’s office assisted in the investigation.
