Eldred man jailed for alleged rape
An Eldred man is in McKean County Jail on allegations that he sexually assaulted a sleeping woman.
Skylar Langworthy, 21, of Main Street, is charged with rape by forcible compulsion, a first-degree felony; sexual assault, a second-degree felony; indecent assault by forcible compulsion, a first-degree misdemeanor; and indecent assault without consent, a second-degree misdemeanor.
According to the criminal complaint, on Wednesday, state police received a report from a woman who said she was raped while she was sleeping. She told police she awoke to Langworthy on top of her, raping her.
Police interviewed Langworthy, who admitted he had sex with the victim without her consent, the complaint stated.
Langworthy was arraigned before on-call District Judge Rich Luther who remanded him to jail in lieu of $150,000 bail. A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for Nov. 29 before District Judge Bill Todd.
Cuba, NY, woman arrested on drug allegations
A Cuba, N.Y., woman was arraigned Thursday on drug allegations from a traffic stop in Eldred Township back in May.
Courtney Morrison, 28, of Medbury Avenue, is charged with 16 counts of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, one count of possession of a small amount of marijuana, a misdemeanor, and one count of possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.
According to the criminal complaint, Morrison was a passenger in a car that was stopped by state police in Eldred Township on May 16. She was in possession of a glass pipe, a metal pipe,a metal grinder, a metal pipe cleaner, rolling papers, a rubber bowl, a plastic bag containing methamphetamine, assorted cigars, four burnt marijuana cigarettes and a digiweight scale, along with a small amount of marijuana.
Morrison and the driver told police they were coming back from Busty’s when they were stopped. Morrison told police several times that marijuana is legal in New York. The trooper responded that methamphetamine is not, the complaint stated.
Morrison was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Bill Todd and released on $2,000 unsecured bail. A preliminary hearing has been set for Nov. 29 before Todd.
