Bradford man jailed for alleged assault on children
KANE — A Bradford man is in McKean County Jail for allegedly injuring children while throwing a glass plate at someone else.
George C. Krouse, 22, of 193 W. Washington St., upper, is charged with two counts of assault, first-degree misdemeanors, and of recklessly endangering another person, second-degree misdemeanors.
According to the criminal complaint, on Saturday, Krouse was involved in an argument with his brother when he threw a glass dinner plate at him. The plate missed his brother and struck his 4-year-old nephew in the face and then struck a baby walker where his 10-month-old niece was seated. Both children had injuries from either the plate or broken glass from the plate, the complaint stated.
Krouse was arraigned before on-call District Judge David Engman and jailed in lieu of $5,000 bail. A preliminary hearing in the case is set for Nov. 17 before District Judge Dom Cercone.
Coudersport man jailed for firearms related allegation
SMETHPORT — A Coudersport man was sent to McKean County Jail following an arraignment Monday on charges relating to lying on a firearms form.
Todd E. Denhof, 49, of 433 Tennessee Road, is charged with making a false statement on the sale or transfer of a firearm, a third-degree felony; and statement under penalty, a third-degree misdemeanor.
According to the criminal complaint, Denhof attempted to purchase a firearm from McKean County E-sales last year. When he was filling out the required forms, he checked “no” to the question of whether he had been convicted of a crime. However, he had three convictions for DUI within a five-year period, the complaint alleged.
Denhof was arraigned before District Judge Bill Todd and remanded to jail on $10,000 bail. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Nov. 15 before Todd.
