As the temperatures continue to drop, we are reminded that winter is just around the corner — however, the Callahan Park ice rink announced Friday they will be delaying their opening for public skating.
Although the rink has yet to open to the public, it is currently being utilized by the hockey leagues and their players.
The rink was previously set to open its doors this season on Nov. 2. However, due to staffing issues the opening date has been pushed back to Tuesday, Nov. 9.
Bradford’s Callahan Ice Rink at 64 Poplin Ave. is a fully enclosed ice-rink with a heated viewing area, locker rooms and a concession stand, which area residents enjoy during the winter season.
“If anyone is currently looking for a fun and engaging winter job this season, we could use the assistance to staff the rink,” said Chip Comilla, director of public works for the City of Bradford.
For more information on how to apply to work for the rink an application can be obtained at the City Hall building at 24 Kennedy St. or by visiting the City of Bradford website ‘Employment Opportunities’ tab at http://www.bradfordpa.com/.
