Four candidates are vying for two seats on Pennsylvania’s Commonwealth Court, including Bradford resident Stacy Marie Wallace.
Wallace, a Republican, is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and Duquesne University Law School in 2004. She has served as a specially appointed law master and Sex Offender Registration & Notification Act (SORNA) counsel, been certified as a conflict resolution mediator, and shared her knowledge of the law as an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh-Bradford and as an instructor in continuing education courses for fellow attorneys. She founded her own law practice in 2012 and is the current President of the McKean County Bar Association.
Republican J. Andrew “Drew” Crompton of Cumberland County is a current appointee serving on the court. He graduated from Phil-Mont Christian Academy High School, Dickinson College and Widener School of Law in Harrisburg. In his role as General Counsel to the Senate Republicans, Crompton served as a vital link among all branches of government, providing leadership and counsel in the passage of vital legislation affecting Pennsylvanians in every walk of life. His current appointed term ends in January 2022
Democrat David Lee Spurgeon of Allegheny County has served in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas since 2016. He has been recognized as a national expert on domestic violence and has been named a Judicial Fellow by the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges for his judicial leadership. He currently serves as the Chair of the Family Violence Work Group for the 5th Judicial District. Spurgeon has served as adjunct faculty at Point Park University and is currently an adjunct professor at Duquesne University School of Law.
Democrat Lori A. Dumas of Philadelphia has served on the bench for more than 18 years. She served as a Common Pleas Court Judge in the Philadelphia Family Court — Juvenile Division for the majority of her tenure. She is a graduate of the Fels Institute of Government at the University of Pennsylvania, DiverseForce Board Governance Program and is also a Georgetown Fellow, specializing in Systems which serve Crossover Youth, she holds a Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University and is licensed in the state as a Personal Care Home Administrator. Dumas has taught legal courses at several local institutions.
