LEND A HELPING HAND: Halloween is creeping closer, and the chance to go door-to-door as their favorite spooky, funny or superhero figure is putting a smile on children’s faces.
For some, however, the cost of a costume can be a big expense.
To help those families and make sure all local children get to have fun, the United Way of the Bradford Area is collecting new or gently used Halloween costumes. The deadline to donate is Oct. 22, because Oct. 23 between 9 and 11 a.m., the costumes will be distributed at the Salvation Army to those in need on a first come, first serve basis.
With children attending school in person, this is a great way to help offset the cost and provide a fun escape for a child in the area for Halloween this year. Meanwhile, it means a chance for families who have Halloween costumes taking up space to help other children enjoy the holiday.

GHOST PIZZA BAGELS: In keeping with the Halloween theme, we are sharing a fun snack idea, with credit for the recipe to delish.com. This can be a great option for after school, and the kids will be entertained by the tasty ghostly treat.
INGREDIENTS:
— 8 slices mozzarella
— 8 mini bagels
— 1/2 c. marinara
— 4 black olives
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Cut mozzarella slices into ghost shapes using a paring knife. Spread a thin layer of marinara over a bagel and top with ghost. Bake until the cheese is melty, approximately 10 minutes. Meanwhile, cut olives into little pieces for eyes. Dot the ghosts and serve.
