Bradford man jailed for
sending explicit
photos to juvenile
SMETHPORT — A Bradford man is in McKean County Jail, charged with sending explicit pictures to a female juvenile.
Steven Parsons, 40, is charged with disseminating obscene material to a minor, corruption of minors, unlawful contact with a minor and criminal use of a communication facility, all third-degree felonies; and one count of open lewdness, a third-degree misdemeanor.
According to the criminal complaint, Port Allegany police received a ChildLine report that Parsons had sent numerous inappropriate messages and three pictures of his genitalia to a 17-year-old female through social media messenger. He asked her repeatedly to send him photos as well, but she declined.
Parsons was arraigned last week before District Judge Bill Todd and remanded to jail in lieu of $75,000 bail. A preliminary hearing has been set for Oct. 4.
Lewis Run man jailed for alleged child abuse
A Lewis Run man was jailed following an arraignment Wednesday evening on allegations of child abuse.
Todd Vansickles, 51, is charged with endangering the welfare of children, a third-degree felony; simple assault, a first-degree misdemeanor; and harassment, a summary offense.
According to the criminal complaint, state police received a complaint of possible child abuse that took place on Tuesday. Vansickles allegedly struck a child on the lower back, causing what appeared to be a handprint and bruising.
Vansickles was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Rich Luther and remanded to jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 6.
