A Bradford chiropractor has been charged with the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile under the age of 13 between 2018 and this past July.

Jeffrey S. Bender, 51, of Kennedy Street, is charged with indecent assault of a person less than 13, a third-degree felony; simple assault, a first-degree misdemeanor; five counts of indecent assault without consent, second-degree misdemeanors; and two counts of harassment, summary offenses.

According to the criminal complaint, in July, the parents of a juvenile female reported to police that Bender had assaulted her. A forensic interview was scheduled with the Children’s Advocacy Center, where the juvenile said Bender had committed sexual acts against her at least five times, and had physically assaulted her as well, the complaint alleged.

Bender was arraigned before District Judge Dom Cercone and committed to jail in lieu of $40,000 bail, which was posted.

He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Oct. 20.

Bender operates a chiropractic office at 161 Main St.
