SMETHPORT (EC) — Local veterans’ groups will participate in a 9/11 ceremony at 9 a.m. Saturday at the McKean County Courthouse on West Main Street.
The Smethport American Legion has planned the event and will be joined by members of the Crosby American Legion Post 976 and the McKean County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2497 in Smethport.
Then, starting at 11 a.m., the Smethport American Legion will sponsor a chicken barbecue for its membership campaign. Representatives of the post, auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion and the American Legion Riders will be present to renew memberships and register new members.
