Cases of COVID-19 continue to climb in the region, according to data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s COVID-19 monitoring dashboard.
As of Thursday, McKean County had a total of 3,980 cases, 3,046 confirmed and 934 probable, which equates to 31 more total cases since Monday. Elk County had a total of 3,056 total cases, 1,694 confirmed and 1,362 probable, up 47 total cases since Monday. Potter County reported a total of 1,315 total cases, 1,151 confirmed and 164 probable, up 8 since Monday, and Cameron County reported a total of 336 cases, 230 confirmed and 106 probable, up two total cases since Monday.
In regards to hospital preparedness, McKean County reported four patients hospitalized with COVID-19, Elk County reported two and Potter County reported one, none of which were adult intensive care unit (ICU) patients or on ventilators.
Regarding vaccines, there have been 2,949 partially and 14,098 fully vaccinated in McKean County; 1,236 partially and 14,189 fully in Elk; 699 partially and 4,628 fully vaccinated in Potter; and 221 partially and 2,048 fully vaccinated in Cameron County.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as of Wednesday, Pennsylvania ranks fifth among all 50 states for total doses administered. Furthermore, 66% of Pennsylvanians 18 years and older are fully vaccinated.
The health department confirmed that as of noon Thursday, there were 4,816 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 1,308,284. Additionally, it was reported that there are 1,858 individuals hospitalized across the state with COVID-19. Of that number, 481 patients are in the intensive care unit.
