A Bradford man was arraigned Sunday on allegations that he sent threatening messages to a neighbor after firing off gunshots outside of his residence.
Randy J. Titus, 39, is charged with terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another, a first-degree misdemeanor; five counts of recklessly endangering another person, all second-degree misdemeanors, and a summary offense.
According to the criminal complaint, at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Foster Township police were dispatched to a Corwin Lane residence where there was a report of a domestic disturbance, where a female party and children left the residence and the male party was out back behind the house, firing several shots from a gun.
Upon arrival, police spoke with Titus, who had stated he was just really mad and there was a lot of stuff going on in his life. Titus allegedly stated he was roughly 250 days clean from alcohol and decided to drink that day. According to Titus, his wife arrived home and was not happy that he was drinking. After Titus yelled at the female, she took her three children and went to a neighbor’s residence, according to the criminal complaint.
Once the female and children left the house, Titus at some point obtained a firearm, fired rounds behind his residence, proceeded to the front porch of his residence and fired five rounds from a .45 Caliber PT 945 Taurus in the air. Afterwards he texted the neighbor “U wanna get in front of me and my family, … games on,” followed by “Harboring my family. Ya shots will be fired” and “Game on.”
When speaking with police, the neighbor stated he was standing near a front door to his residence and saw Titus on his front porch firing shots before he texted him, reports state.
After speaking with the neighbor, police checked the area of Titus’ front porch, where they obtained five .45 caliber shells on the ground, consistent with the victim’s statement.
Titus was placed into custody and transported to Foster Township Police Department, where he was fingerprinted. He was arraigned in front of District Judge Richard Luther and is being held in McKean County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set before Luther on Sept 8.
