Potter County’s rate of positivity for COVID-19 is rising again, and only about 26% of the county’s population are fully vaccinated.
All four local counties are at the moderate rate of community transmission.
According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health on Friday, Potter County’s positivity rate was the highest in the state at 16%, with 12 additional new cases reported during July 30 to Aug. 5.
The incidence rate was 84.7 per 100,000.
As of Friday, the health department reported a total of 1,253 cases for Potter County, with 3,848 negative tests and a total of 25 deaths. According to the CDC, 26.7% of the county’s population has had at least one dose of the COVID vaccine, while 26.3% are fully vaccinated.
McKean County’s percent positivity was 2.1% for the most recent time frame, and there were 11 fewer new cases reported during than the previous one of July 23 to 29. The incidence rate was 4.9 per 100,000.
The total number of cases in McKean County as of Friday was 3,857, with 11,604 negative tests and a total of 75 deaths. The CDC indicated that 52.1% of the county’s residents have had at least one dose of the vaccine, while 30.9% are fully vaccinated.
Elk County’s percent positivity was 7%, with four more new cases reported during the recent time period. The incidence rate was 23.4 per 100,000.
The total number of cases for Elk County was 2,901 with 6,958 negative tests and a total of 41 deaths. According to the CDC, 53.9% of the county’s total population has had at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 47.9% fully vaccinated.
In Cameron County, there were two fewer cases reported, for a positivity rate of zero. There were 318 cases in total as of Friday, and a total of 10 deaths. As for vaccines, 62% of the county’s residents have been partially vaccinated, and 48% have been fully vaccinated.
