AUSTIN — Visit Sinnemahoning State Park for a weekend of family fun.
Wade into the wild world of crayfish, make a butterfly craft and watch a butterfly movie, or join park staff for a pontoon tour of the lake. All programs are free, family-friendly, and do not require pre-registration unless otherwise stated.
Crayfish Crazy, today, 3 to 4 p.m.. Splash into the wild world of crayfish and explore their freshwater habitat. Free family program. Nets and containers provided. All ages welcome. Parents will be asked to assist young children. Dress to get wet. Water shoes recommended. 40 Maples Day Use Area.
Butterfly Craft, today, 8 to 8:30 p.m. Play with colors as you create your own bright butterfly craft while learning about the parts of the butterfly. Best for ages 10 and under.
Campground Movie: Butterfly and Moth, today, 8:30-9: p.m.. Family friendly video exploring the amazing world of butterflies and moths. Watch their fascinating transformations throughout their lifecycle. 30-minute nature video. All are welcome! Campground Amphitheater.
Pontoon Boat Tours, Sunday. Three tours starting at 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and noon. Join park staff for a relaxing and informative 1-hour tour of the lake as we search the shoreline for herons, ducks, turtles, and other wildlife. Program is free but donations are requested. All ages welcome. Pre-registration recommended but not required. Lake Day Use Area.
