SMETHPORT — An Oil City man pleaded guilty Tuesday in McKean County Court to statutory sexual assault.
Jonathan L. King, 20, of Oil City, pleaded guilty to statutory sexual assault: 4-8 years older. As a condition of the plea agreement, the charges of IDSI person less than 16 years of age, aggravated indecent assault — comp. less than 16; and indecent assault — person less than 16 years of age were dropped.
According to the criminal complaint, on March 15, Port Allegany Borough Police received a report that King had a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl.
The girl told investigators that King knew she was only 14, and that after they had sexual intercourse, he told her that she could not tell anybody because he did not want to go to jail or lose custody of his daughter who he had with another woman in Oil City, the complaint alleged.
The complaint stated that the girl did not report the assault sooner because she was scared of what King would do to her.
King will be sentenced on Sept. 23.
Damien J. Packer, 19, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to fleeing or attempting to elude an officer; seven counts of recklessly endangering another person and a summary offense.
According to Bradford City Police, their department tried to stop a car on April 20 on Mill Street near Jackson Avenue. The operator — Packer — allegedly fled from police, and a pursuit ensued.
Reports alleged that he passed multiple vehicles and traveled at estimated speeds up to 90 mph before city officers stopped following him due to safety concerns. Packer was found a short time later at the Lafferty Hollow Industrial Complex, and he fled into the woods on foot, according to police. Several police agencies assisted in searching and taking the man into custody.
Packer will be sentenced on Sept. 9.
Tyler W. Bedard, 35, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to a summary harassment charge. As a part of a plea deal, the charges of terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another and simple assault were dropped.
According to court records, at 5:05 p.m. Feb. 7, Lewis Run-based state troopers were dispatched to a domestic dispute in Corydon Township; while police were en route to the scene, dispatch informed officers that Bedard had left the scene in a pick-up truck with four children.
Bradford City Police located the truck on Seaward Avenue, the complaint stated.
Through investigation, police learned that during an argument between Bedard and a female, Bedard pointed a loaded AR-15-style rifle at her and threatened to shoot her; also, he pushed her at one point, the complaint alleged.
Sentencing will be set by the court for a later date.
Jennifer M. Gault, 32, of Smethport, pleaded guilty to DUI — alcohol. Gault will be sentenced on Sept. 23.
Russell S. Tallentire, 31, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to DUI — alcohol. Tallentire will be sentenced on Sept. 23.
Robin F. Wilson, 51, of Bradford, pleaded guilty to DUI — alcohol and several summary charges. Wilson will be sentenced on Sept. 23.
Daniel Yeager, 52, of Wellsville, pleaded guilty to DUI — alcohol and several summary offenses. Yeager will be sentenced on Sept. 23.
Cheri M. Baker, 56, of Bradford, and Mark R. Torrey, 31, of Bradford, were both accepted into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition (ARD) program for DUI — controlled substance.
Also accepted into the ARD program was Jehrod A. Babb, 36, of Bradford, for DUI — alcohol.
