A Kane man was convicted during a jury trial Tuesday on charges of sexual offenses against minors.
After a two-day trial, Robert Wayne Hamilton, 68, was convicted of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse on a child under age 13; sexual assault; two counts of indecent assault on a child under 13; two-counts of corruption of minors; indecent assault on a child under 13; indecent exposure where child under 16 was present; three-counts of indecent assault without consent; and three counts of indecent assault on child under 16. Hamilton was found not-guilty of two additional counts of rape.
Hamilton allegedly had sexual contact with three juveniles, ages 7, 8 and 10, several times between Jan. 1, 2017 and Oct. 9, 2018, at his residence, a camp and at Fox’s Dam in Ludlow. The case was investigated by Trooper Eric Thompson of the Pennsylvania State Police — Lewis Run.
District Attorney Stephanie L. Vettenburg-Shaffer prosecuted the case on behalf of the Commonwealth. Hamilton was represented by Stephanie Susan Elaine Smith with the public defender’s office.
Hamilton was ordered to undergo an assessment, required under the former Megan’s Law, now known as SORNA. He will be sentenced at a later date.
Hamilton is currently being held at the McKean County Jail in lieu of $200,000 cash bail.
