A Kane man was arraigned Thursday on allegations that he fled from police on two separate occasions.
Robert W. Duck, Jr., 42, is charged with flight to avoid apprehension, a third-degree felony and resisting arrest, a second-degree misdemeanor in one case and flight to avoid apprehension, a third-degree felony; resisting arrest, a second-degree misdemeanor; and disorderly conduct, a third-degree misdemeanor in a second case.
According to the criminal complaints, on June 30, Duck was sitting on the porch of a Chase Street home in the Borough of Kane. When spotted by a police officer and informed of his outstanding bench warrants, he allegedly fled into the woods to avoid apprehension.
Then, on July 3, after an officer requested that he stop and speak to him about an active bench warrant, Duck allegedly fled away on his bicycle, through yards where the officer could not follow in his patrol car.
Duck was arraigned before District Judge David Engman and is currently being held in McKean County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bail.
