The numbers of new cases of the COVID-19 virus are dwindling in the local region.
In the last week, McKean County has seen four new cases of COVID-19, according to data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
As of Friday, there had been 3,817 cases of COVID-19 in McKean County, with 11,447 negative tests and 75 deaths. Last Friday, July 2, there had been 3,813 cases, 11,423 negative tests and 75 deaths.
In Elk County, there were two additional cases in a week. As of Friday, there were 2,871 cases, 6,799 negative tests and 41 deaths. One week earlier, there had been 2,869 cases, 6,766 negative tests and 41 deaths.
In Potter County, there were five new cases in a week. As of Friday, there were 1,226 cases, 3,764 negative tests and 25 deaths. One week earlier, there had been 1,221 cases, 3,739 negative tests and 25 deaths.
In Cameron County, there was one new case. As of Friday, there were 310 cases with 1,139 negative tests and 8 deaths. On July 2, there were 309 cases, 1,135 negative tests and 8 deaths.
McKean County’s positivity rate was 3.4%, there was one less new case of COVID-19 during the time period of July 2 to 8 as compared to the prior week, and the incidence rate was 7.4 per 100,000 people.
Elk County’s positivity rate was 3.2%, with no new cases of COVID-19 during the current time frame, and an incidence rate of 3.3 per 100,000 people.
Potter County’s positivity rate was 6.5%, there was one additional case of COVID-19 during the current time frame and the incidence rate was 24.2 per 100,000 residents.
Cameron County’s positivity rate was 8.3% with no new cases and an incidence rate of 22.5 per 100,000 residents.
During the time frame of July 2 to 8, there were 9 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Pennsylvania, making the positivity rate for the state 1.2% and the incidence rate 6.9 per 100,000 residents.
The total number of vaccines distributed as of Friday in the state was 11,818,299.
In McKean County, there were 7,996 partially vaccinated and 10,697 fully vaccinated. In Elk County, there were 1,437 partially vaccinated and 13,794 fully vaccinated. In Potter County, there were 1,130 partially and 4,089 fully; and in Cameron County, 244 partially and 2,017 fully.
