At 10:44 a.m. Thursday, Bradford City Fire Department was dispatched to a North Center Street residence for a structure fire with flames and smoke around the hot water tank.
The first crews into the home found a small fire that was extinguished with a 2.5 gallon water can. City fire investigators were called to the scene. The investigation is still ongoing, according to department officials.
“We would like to remind city residents to keep the area around your appliances clear of any combustible materials,” a department spokesman said.
Chief Eric Taylor had North Center Street command. Bradford Water Authority and City of Bradford Police assisted on the scene.
