Two local students were among the several students to be honored by the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford for their roles in student life.
Marissa Merritt, a graduating history-political science major from Kersey, received the K. James Evans Student Affairs Award for outstanding leadership, scholarship, character and service to the university.
Also, Jarod Piccioli, a graduating exercise science major from Bradford, received the K. James Evans Student Affairs Award for outstanding leadership, scholarship, character and service to the university.

DeKALB, Ill. — Godwin Ekpe of Bradford, Pa., graduated from Northern Illinois University in June, receiving a Doctor of Philosophy degree in economics and a Master of Science degree in statistics.
