A Bradford man accused of selling methamphetamine is one of a number of people who had preliminary hearings Wednesday in McKean County.
James P. Kemick, 36, of Bradford, had the following charges against him bound to McKean County Court at a preliminary hearing before District Judge Dominic Cercone: possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility and possession of a controlled substance.
The criminal complaint states that on April 27, Kemick sold 3.7 grams of meth to a confidential informant with the McKean County Drug Task Force in exchange for $150.
Kemick is free, having posted $100,000 bail.
Cody Eschrich, 19, of Mount Jewett, had a charge of indecent assault-person less than 13 bound to McKean County Court at a hearing before Cercone.
According to the criminal complaint, on June 12, Eschrich had inappropriate contact with a 3-year-old boy.
During a subsequent interview with police about what happened, “Eschrich changed his story about what took place every time he went through it,” the complaint stated.
Eschrich is in McKean County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
James F. Wilcox, 34, of Bradford, had charges against him bound to McKean County Court at a hearing before District Judge Richard Luther on charges of insurance fraud and four counts of false reports.
The criminal complaint states that on several dates Wilcox reported separate burglaries at his 32 Scott Field Drive Home to Foster Township Police. On April 11, May 4 and May 5, Wilcox claimed someone damaged his residence and items inside, and on April 17, he claimed someone entered his home and let out his dogs.
However, Wilcox did the damage himself, according to the complaint. Court records also indicate that he filed a false insurance claim.
Wilcox is in jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Kristy D. Schlopy, 36, of Bradford, waived a preliminary hearing before Luther on charges of access device fraud, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
According to the criminal complaint, Schlopy used someone else’s bank card to make purchases totaling $1,793.43.
Schlopy is free, having posted $10,000 bail.
Gerald K. Redford, 45, of Gowanda, N.Y., waived a preliminary hearing before Cercone on felony charges of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
According to the criminal complaint, on Jan. 26, Redford stole a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox sport utility vehicle from the parking lot of the Choice store in Bradford City while the driver was in the store. Redford drove away in the SUV, and law enforcement officials in New York State arrested him.
He is in jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
