SMETHPORT — A man accused of fleeing from police was sentenced Friday in McKean County Court to a term in state prison.
Darryl M. Sherlock, 34, of Bradford, will serve 17 to 36 months in state prison with credit for 186 days of time served for charges in three cases. In one case, he’s charged with flight to avoid apprehension, in a second with possession of drug paraphernalia and a summary charge, and in a third to charges of fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, possession of a controlled substance and a summary charge.
On May 20, Sherlock pleaded guilty to allegations that on July 10, 2020, he possessed a glass pipe and drove when his operating privileges were suspended, revoked or cancelled. On Sept. 26, 2020, he concealed himself with the intent to avoid trial, apprehension or punishment for a misdemeanor crime. On Oct. 11, 2020, he refused to bring his vehicle to a stop when a Bradford City police officer tried to pull him over and led police on a high speed chase that crossed state lines; he possessed methamphetamine that day, too.
Also in court, Zachary Koch, 22, of Bradford, was sentenced to 13 to 32 months in state prison with credit for 133 days of time served and one year of probation, and he will be required to pay $662.39 in restitution for charges of theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief.
On Feb. 4, Koch pleaded guilty to allegations that on June 28, he stole a four-wheeler valued at approximately $1,265 and intentionally damaged it, causing a loss of about $662.39.
Austin J. Tankersley, 27, of East Smethport, was sentenced to nine to two years in state prison with credit for 149 days of time served for charges of criminal trespassing, DUI — controlled substance, criminal mischief and a summary charge.
On May 6, Tankersley pleaded guilty to allegations that on Sept. 26, in Eldred, he entered a residence by pushing past the resident. After he left he drove a vehicle, despite having a suspended license and having metabolites in his system for drugs including methamphetamine and marijuana; he intentionally struck the victim’s vehicle with his vehicle, causing $3,041.50 in damage, then left and crashed the vehicle over an embankment.
Kaylee E. Welch, 22, of Smethport, will serve nine months of probation for charges of theft by deception.
On May 20, Welch pleaded guilty to allegations that on Feb. 29, 2020, she was in a collision with her 2013 Ford Escape. The crash caused $7,961.35 in damage to her vehicle, and she had no insurance. On March 2, she got an insurance policy from Progressive and filed a claim asserting that the accident happened on March 5.
Kelcie R. Moffett, 19, of Bradford, will serve 2 ½ years of probation for charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance and a summary charge.
Alex A. Cheatle, 31, of St. Marys, will serve seven days to six months in McKean County Jail for charges of DUI — controlled substance and summary charges.
Donald L. Jordan, 48, of Bradford, will serve six months of probation with a period of restrictive sanctions for charges of DUI — alcohol and a summary charge.
Louis Tracy, 38, will serve six months of probation with a period of restrictive sanctions for a charge of DUI — controlled substance.
Kaitlyn J. Dowell, 24, of Bradford, will serve six months of probation with a period of restrictive sanctions for a charge of DUI — controlled substance.
Dylan S. Baumgarner, 23, of Port Allegany, will serve six months of probation for charges of DUI — alcohol and summary charges.
Garret T. Smith, 28, of Bradford, will serve six months of probation with a period of restrictive sanctions for charges of DUI — alcohol.
Steven J. Kelley, 36, of Bradford, will serve one year and four months probation for a charge of habitual offenders and summary charges.
Kevin J. Parkhurst, 58, of Bradford, will serve five years of probation with a period of restrictive sanctions for DUI — alcohol and a summary charge.
Obot E. Essien, 33, of Bradford, will serve 18 months of probation with a period of restrictive sanctions for DUI — controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and summary charges.
Jace A. Noble, 19, of New Cumberland, will serve one year of probation with a period of restrictive sanctions for charges of DUI — controlled substances, DUI — general impairment and summary offences.
Dakota A. King, 25, of Eldred, will serve six months with a period of restrictive sanctions for charges of DUI — controlled substance and summary charges. He asked for a trial in a second case regarding an alleged motor vehicle accident.
