A Ridgway woman is facing allegations that she assaulted someone with a baseball bat last week.
According to Ridgway Borough Police, at 11:16 a.m. June 16, they received a report that an assault with a baseball bat just happened on Sheridan Avenue. Police found a woman who had a laceration to the back of her head from the bat.
Following their investigation, police arrested Catrina D. Rice, 44, of North Mill Avenue, Ridgway, for the alleged assault, police reported.
Police did not say how serious the alleged victim’s injuries were or provide a possible motive.
Rice was arraigned before District Judge James Martin on charges of aggravated assault-attempts to cause or causes bodily injury with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony, and simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor.
She is in Elk County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set for June 30.
