TRAVEL: We know how beautiful this part of Pennsylvania is, and we’re always happy to see when other people notice, too.
The website PA Bucket List, a travel blog of photographer Rusty Glessner, captured the beauty of Sinnemahoning State Park recently, and Elk State Forest last month.
His site shows photos and gives a bit of a story to each stop. For example, he mentioned fishing, boating and picnicking at Sinnemahoning, along with wildlife viewing.
Nearby attractions are featured, too, including Austin Dam and the Bucktail Overlook in Driftwood, also called the Top of the World.
Glessner seemed quite taken with the region, including the herd of majestic elk at Benezette.
The site also features waterfalls, scenic overlooks, covered bridges, abandoned places, hiking abd biking trails, state parks, historic places, wildlife and roadside attractions.
His blog site shows us something we already know — Pennsylvania is a great place to explore.
We hope he visits Kinzua Bridge State Park, which, of course, is one of our favorites.

TODAY: Today is a special occasion related to travel, sort of.
Today in 1885, the Statue of Liberty arrived in New York City aboard the French ship “Isere.”
The statue represents the Roman goddess Libertas, who personified freedom. The spikes of Lady Liberty’s crown represent the oceans and continents.
And interestingly, the statue is struck by lightning about 600 times a year.
