Open Arms Church will host its second “Storyteller’s Live” event at 7 p.m. Friday.
The evening will once again feature live music and testimonies, is free to the public, and will take place in the lower parking lot of the church’s Bradford campus, located at 1289 E. Main St.
Richard Dennison, the church’s worship ministry coordinator and the organizer of “Storyteller’s Live,” described the response to the first event in May as “extremely powerful.”
“Those who attended felt God move in such a strong way,” Dennison said. “Sharing your story of God meeting you in a place of hurting, or discomfort, or even joy, is a very important part of spreading the good news. When I witnessed the joy people felt from the first event, I met with the other ministry leaders, and we decided that it was something we would like to continue.”
The format for Friday’s event will be similar to the first, including songs and inspirational stories, but the setting will be a bit different. Instead of the church’s auditorium, attendees will gather near the fire pit in the church’s lower parking area, where the musicians will perform on acoustic instruments. Dennison said that this change was made to coincide with the beginning of the summer season.
“There’s nothing like a story around the campfire in the summertime,” he said.
