SCAVENGER HUNT INVITE: Misha Collins, an actor best known for his long-standing role as Castiel on Supernatural, which recently ended after 15 years, is inviting people across the US to take part in the 10th anniversary of the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt, aka GISH Hunt.
Collins states, “It’s been a long year-plus since the pandemic first closed down borders and left so many of us stuck behind our own front doors. …The world as we left it was kind of a mess. So instead of just a begrudging return to what was, I say we use this moment of reopening as a chance to reinvent what is, holding on to the best things in the world and reshaping what needs to be fixed. We have a rare opportunity to sneak in and subversively rearrange the furniture.* Let’s seize it.”
Collins believes one way to do this is to be part of an event where you can “go around the world in eight days,” and Collins describes it as “a global World’s Fair event where we give a giant hug to those things we love most about the world and fix some of the things that need fixing in the rest of the world.”
It will be part celebration, workout and party, with a little bit of charity and embarrassment thrown in, Collins says.
To sign up, visit www.gish.com.
There is a fee per player. The money supports True Colors United, an organization that helps LGBTQIA youth who are homeless. There is a grand prize for the winners of the hunt as well.
Registration closes at 10 p.m. July 21.
