FESTA FOOD: Bradfordians have a chance today to enjoy locally made Italian fare, as the Festa Italiana Committee is hosting its first of three 2021 Festa To Go events.
Stop by the area outside the Italian Club on Festival Way from 5 to 8 p.m. today for treats including muffaletta sandwiches, pepper salad and cannoli.
This won’t be your last chance to snag Festa Italiana cuisine this year, as the committee plans to hold Festa To Go events on the third Tuesday of July and August. The food events are being held in lieu of the regular festival, which was canceled due to the pandemic.

OCEAN FACTS: June is Ocean Month. In recognition of that, here are some fun ocean facts:
— Too much sunlight can damage the algae that live inside coral in shallow water. To protect the algae, which are a main source of sustenance for the coral, the corals fluoresce. This creates proteins that act as a sort of sunscreen for the algae.
— There’s around 20 million tons of gold dispersed throughout the oceans. It is, however, diluted pretty much to a pulp—its concentration is only a few parts per trillion, according to the National Ocean Service. If the ocean’s gold were equally distributed among every person on earth, we’d each receive nine pounds of gold.
— The tallest waterfall you’re going to see on land is Angel Falls in Venezuela, which has a drop of over 3,200 feet. Meanwhile, the Denmark Strait Cataract, is an underwater waterfall in between Greenland and Iceland formed by the temperature difference in the water on either side of the strait. According to the National Ocean Service, the flow rate of the waterfall is more than 123 million cubic feet per second, which is 50,000 times that of Niagara Falls.
