CARE for Children, the lead agency for Safe Kids Pennsylvania — McKean County Partner, is offering free bicycle helmets for children in McKean County throughout June.
The organization has a small surplus of helmets following its Kindergarten Bicycle Safety Program which was funded by a PA Department of Health Preventative and Health Services Block Grant through Safe Kids Pennsylvania and a grant from the United Way of the Bradford Area Inc.
Helmets available range in size from small to extra-large. CARE staff will also fit a child’s existing helmet if it needs checked.
To schedule an appointment for a bicycle helmet fitting, contact CARE for Children at 814-362-4621 or email reception@careforchildren.info. All helmet fittings will be held at the Ashley Booth Griffin CARE for Children Center, 723 East Main Street, Bradford.
Safe Kids Pennsylvania – McKean County Partner is a collaborative effort of local organizations, businesses, and individuals who support child safety and injury prevention efforts targeted to local needs.
