MEMORIES: Bradford resident Donald Neal shared a poem with us about remembering the past.
I Remember
As I look back through the days of my life
I remember the happiness that was all around.
I remember the times of trouble and sorrow,
Where I didn’t think any peace could be found.
It seemed that, all of a sudden, the clouds would break,
And let the sun come shining through.
All the troubles would seem to disappear,
In a sky of brilliant blue.
Sometimes my search for happiness,
Seemed to be a never ending task.
But help was always close at hand,
All I had to do was ask.
I have always been there for someone in need,
As a child these were the values I was taught.
I have done this not for praise or pay,
Bringing happiness is what I sought.
Happiness is one thing that is not hard to find,
All you have to do is look for peace.
You will find love and happiness,
And the joys of life will never cease.
I have found that in my later years,
What I have done, in life, was my accomplishment.
If I have brought happiness to someone else,
It has always been time well spent.
So I will ask all who read this verse,
To think of how our world should be.
To bring happiness with a helping hand,
And a peaceful future you will see.

UPSY DAISY: Each year on June 8, National Upsy Daisy Day is set aside to encourage you to face the day positively and to get up ‘gloriously, gratefully and gleefully’ each morning. Life is full of challenges, and it is our attitude that helps us over the bumps to move onward with a smile.
