SMETHPORT — Honorable Senior Judge John Pavlock swore in two new Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) on Friday via virtual video conference.
Advocate Supervisor, Jessica London, started the ceremony by giving remarks pertaining to how one caring adult can make a significant difference in a child’s life. Pavlock also shared remarks about the positive impact of the CASA program before he performed the swearing in ceremony.
CASA is a nationwide program that trains community volunteers of all walks of life to advocate for children that are in the foster care system. A CASA volunteer assures that a child’s voice is heard in the system as well as urges that the child is placed in safe and permanent housing as soon as possible.
