The local area had 2 more cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, both in Elk County, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Elk County now has 2,861 total cases: 1,576 confirmed and 1,285 probable. There have been 6,527 negative tests in the county.
The case counts did not change on Tuesday in McKean, Potter and Cameron counties.
McKean has 3,771 total cases: 2,879 confirmed and 892 probable cases, and 11,188 negative tests; Potter has 1,182 total cases: 1,032 confirmed, 150 probable and 3,620 negative tests; and Cameron has 303 total cases: 207 confirmed, 96 probable and 1,087 negative tests.
The number of deaths remained the same in all four local counties: 72 in McKean, 39 in Elk, 23 in Potter and 7 in Cameron.
Statewide, the Department of Health reported 489 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday, 315 new cases on Monday and 684 new cases on Tuesday, bringing the total to 1,202,863. A total of 27,214 Pennsylvanians have died from the disease.
No one in the local area is currently hospitalized with COVID-19. Statewide, there are 1,028 people hospitalized, and 257 of those hospitalized are in the ICU.
Regarding vaccines, this is how many have been given in the local area: in Cameron County, there are 283 people partially and 1,878 people fully vaccinated; in Elk, 1,760 partially and 12,767 fully; in McKean, 8,449 partially and 8,867 fully; and in Potter, 1,338 partially and 3,120 fully.
To date, 54.2% of Pennsylvanians 18 and older are fully vaccinated. Also, 57.8% of the entire population of Pennsylvania has received a first dose.
