SMETHPORT — The Smethport Fire Department and McKean County Emergency Management Agency will be testing tornado sirens at 7 p.m. June 1.
Tests will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sept. 1; 7 p.m. Dec. 1; and 1 p.m. March 1, 2022.
The tests are to allow the public the opportunity to listen for and become familiar with the sirens, so they will know when danger is present in the area.
The organizations asked residents to prepare or update their in-home safety action plan. Anyone with questions on how to become disaster ready should contact the EMA office at (814) 887-5070 or the Smethport Fire Department at (814) 887-2611, and leave a message.
